The art of Chinese children meet the students of Treviso Art High School

This is the third second exhibition organized in Italy of works by little Chinese artists. It is realized in collaboration with InEyes and Treviso Artistic High School and the second one in co-organization with the Municipality of Morgano, in fact, the works are exhibited at the former Church of Sant’Antonio, an integral building of the historic “Rotonda” of Badoere, one of the most fascinating places in Italy and in particular of Treviso. The thirty works that we present are made by children aged 6 to 10 from all over the territory of the People’s Republic of China. However, the aim was to compare the artistic expression of the young Chinese students with the students of the Treviso State Art High School.

This is the first exhibition organized in Italy in collaboration with PHE – International Art & Calligraphy Contest and Treviso Artistic High School / Artistic Gallery. The twenty-three works are a selection of the finalists of the 17th PHE International Youth Art Conference for children from 6 to 17 years old from all over China. During the exhibition period, some of them, accompanied by parents and teachers, were engaged in a workshop of artistic activities on July 16th-20th 2017, at the school’s laboratories.

Arte cinese contemporanea a Treviso: confronti

The exhibition is inserted in a project that provides the presence in Treviso and for the first time in Italy of a group of artists from the People’s Republic of China who have understood the need to show and confront with the Western context their works. Their artwokrs are painting, watercolors, graphics, works of jewellery exposed for a very short period, for the public ofTreviso, so that you can not only know a reality so far away but also open a debate on contemporary art in this particular moment of open globalisation, the circulation of ideas and not just the “Goods”. The four guest artists from different locations of China, but residing and operating in Beijing: Du Jingwen (1985); Guo Hong (1984); Wei Li (1970); Zhang Na (1955); accompanied by the critic Ren Chaogang (1969).

This is the second exhibition organized in Italy in collaboration with PHE – International Art & Calligraphy Contest and Treviso Artistic High School. This time the exhibition moved location, in fact, there is also the collaboration of the Municipality of Morgano. The thirty-four works are a selection of the finalists of the 18th PHE International Youth Art Conference for children from 4 to 17 years old from all over China. During the exhibition period, some of them, accompanied by parents and teachers, were engaged in a workshop of artistic activities on July 08th-11th 2018, at the school’s laboratories.

The exhibition is inserted in a project that provides the presence in Treviso and for the first time in Italy of a group of artists from the People’s Republic of China who have understood the need to show and confront with the Western context their works. The Young artist Li Wenyan has a long experience and technical skills in the field of traditional painting. The series presented by Li Wenyan got its inspiration from the Chinese philosophy, which often uses natural elements to describe human characters and personalities. The artist represents natural forms as vehicles of meanings as it was also in the oldest Western tradition.
